The news over the past year has been COVID-focused as researchers and companies raced to develop vaccines aimed at bringing an end to the coronavirus pandemic. But what does it all really mean and how does it shape up in terms of available vaccines and their mode of action.

Dr. Randy Gregg
Director of Research
DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Randy Gregg is the Director of Research at the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Knoxville, Tenn., and is an Associate Professor of Immunology at Lincoln Memorial University. Dr. Gregg taught microbiology and immunology in medical programs for 14 years and his previous research focused on HIV immune evasion mechanisms as well as Ebolavirus pathogenesis, autoimmunity and cancer immunotherapy. His current research focuses on vaccine development, infectious diseases, immune modulators to control emerging diseases and he also works in the space program looking at microgravity impact on immune function.
