BIO-CAT breaks ground on facility expansion

BIO-CAT held a groundbreaking ceremony recently for a new 15,000 sq. ft. building in Troy, Va., that "will allow for growth in our capabilities in blending and packaging of enzymes to meet our customers' needs," BIO-CAT chief executive officer Chris Shuler said.

With this expansion, BIO-CAT plans to hire additional employees by year-end.

In 2012, BIO-CAT completed another expansion that included building a new research and development facility and additional office spaces.

BIO-CAT also operates a business in Minnesota (BIO-CAT Microbials) that manufactures bacteria through a fermentation process. The combination of technologies allows the company to expand its custom offerings by developing unique enzyme and bacteria blends.

BIO-CAT has 25 years of experience in the biotechnology industry. Its products include single to multiple enzyme blends for various industrial, food, agricultural and other commercial markets. BIO-CAT's facilities in Virginia and Minnesota are ISO 9001:2008 certified and feature state-of-the-art laboratories for scientific research, product development and on-site quality testing.
