BALCHEM Corp. recently celebrated the opening of its newest manufacturing facility in Covington, Va.
The expansion will more than double output capacity for Balchem's Animal Nutrition & Health sector, focusing on its new and improved nutrient encapsulation technology (Feedstuffs, May 7, 2012).
"This state-of-the-art production facility will help us respond to the dramatic increase in demand for our full line of encapsulated products," Dana Putnam, Balchem vice president and general manager, Animal Nutrition & Health, said. "By concentrating on our basic principles of science and technology, we are able to greatly improve our process efficiency while advancing solutions that improve animal productivity and health."
The Covington plant has the capability to produce Balchem's growing portfolio of encapsulated nutrients, including: ReaShure Precision Release Choline, NitroShure Precision Release Nitrogen and NiaShure Precision Release Niacin.
Balchem, based in New Hampton, N.Y., manufactures more than 140 different products across human, animal and industrial applications. Balchem has worked to refine and improve encapsulation technology and processes for more than 40 years, with a focus on the animal nutrition and health industry for the last 10 years.
