The Wenger Group Inc. and Risser Grain LLC have jointly announced an expanded business relationship.

Effective Sept. 1, 2019, The Wenger Group, through its Wenger Feeds LLC subsidiary, will operate the feed mill at Risser Grain’s Martinsburg, Pa., location. In addition, Wenger Feeds’ employees at the Martinsburg Mill will support Risser Grain’s grain operations at this location.

The mill historically has been operated for Risser Grain by a third party for a number of years, so this arrangement will end in August 2019.

“The Wenger Group Inc. and Risser Grain LLC have enjoyed a close business and strategic relationship for many years, with Wenger Feeds LLC sourcing ingredients to manufacture feed through the grain marketing operations of Risser,” Phil Rohrbaugh, chief executive officer of The Wenger Group, said.

Rohrbaugh and Brent Risser, president of Risser Grain, expressed enthusiasm for the expanded business relationship. Rohrbaugh indicated that the expanded relationship “provides a solution to needed incremental manufacturing capacity for our growing customer feed demands,” and Risser added that the expanded relationship further strengthens the relationship with a key ingredient customer.

The Wenger Group is a 75-year-old, family-owned agricultural products and services organization that includes Wenger Feeds LLC, Nutrify LLC and Dutchland Farms LLC. With more than 300 team members and nine feed milling locations in two states, the company is a regional provider of poultry and swine feeds, performance ingredient solutions, niche market eggs and allied services in the mid-Atlantic region.

Risser Grain is a 45-year-old, family-owned grain dealer of corn, wheat, soybeans and barley as well as an exclusive distributer of custom-mixed fertilizer.
