Cold storage company adds second phase to expansion plans
Tippmann Innovation, Win Chill

Tippmann Innovation announced this week that it has recently completed the construction of a 205,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art cold storage facility for Win Chill Cold Storage in Sioux Falls, S.D. The new warehouse includes more than 30,000 pallet positions and 1,100 positions of Tippmann Innovation’s QF+ IN-Rack Freezing system. The facility is equipped with 16 dock doors and is also served by rail.

As demand for cold storage warehousing in Sioux Falls continued to increase during the early stages of construction, Win Chill realized that, with its projected client commitments, the warehouse would fill to capacity at the completion of the building. As a result, Win Chill owners began planning with Tippmann engineers on the design of a phase 2 expansion. Tippmann recently broke ground on phase 2, which is slated to be completed in December of this year. The second phase will include a 126,000 sq. ft. freezer addition with nine loading docks and 18,900 pallet positions.

“Tippmann Innovation is excited to again partner with Win Chill on phase 2,” the company said. “The rapid growth of the region’s food processing market is causing a backlog of demand for warehouse space from both local and regional food processors. Win Chill’s facility has exceeded the expectations of Sioux Falls Development Foundation due to the continuing evolution of their premier project in Foundation Park.”

Tippmann Innovation partner Rob Adams said, “We are excited for the continued development of this project. The owners of Win Chill have been extremely engaged in the construction of this new facility, and they were ready to move forward with expansion when the opportunity was presented.”
