China’s National Bureau of Statistics reported this week that the price of livestock meat rose 30.9% in August. Pork prices alone rose 46.7% as the sector continues to deal with the impacts of African swine fever. The meat price increases led to a 1.31% rise in the country’s Consumer Price Index, with pork affecting the index by about 1.08%, the agency reported.
