The Poultry Science Assn. (PSA) has launched a new initiative to share research from Poultry Science and the Journal of Applied Poultry Research in a concise format.

The association’s new Interpretive Summaries are brief, easy-to-read articles that highlight key facts from studies in PSA’s journals. The summaries include key take-aways for producers in the poultry industry, according to the announcement.

Each interpretive summary focuses on one study from a PSA journal. Topics range from animal nutrition to animal health and welfare. Recent summaries include research on eating undercooked turkey livers and testing avian influenza vaccination strategies.

“We are excited to bring interpretive summaries to our members and the poultry science community,” PSA communications specialist Sam Shafer said. “Adhering to our mission, we believe the interpretive summaries are helping us continue disseminating the knowledge and research within poultry science. PSA looks forward to continuing to create new resources such as this in the years to come.”

PSA’s Interpretive Summaries can be found online and are included in PSA’s monthly "PSA Postings" eNewsletter, which is distributed on the second Wednesday of every month. Individuals interested in having their research highlighted in an interpretive summary or one of PSA’s other outlets can complete the Get Involved with PSA Form for content consideration.

PSA is an association committed to research and the dissemination and application of knowledge that supports the poultry industry. PSA is a professional organization that consists of more than 1,800 members across the globe.
