Dr. Edgar Diaz joins Ceva swine team

Diaz will focus on swine vaccines, developing genomics platform and supporting sales team.

Dr. Edgar Diaz, an accomplished scientist, academic, veterinarian and business leader in animal health, has joined Ceva Animal Health as swine technical services manager. In his new role, Dr. Diaz will focus on continuing to grow the company’s customized swine vaccines, developing the genomics platform and supporting the sales team in providing tailor-made solutions to swine veterinarians and producers.

With more than 30 years of experience in swine medicine, his knowledge augments our extensive expertise in swine disease management. His comprehensive background in research and as a practitioner will provide incredibly valuable insights as we continue our growth and leadership in animal health.”

Dr. Diaz most recently served as the director of marketing and newport laboratories for Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health, and he also served as president of Newport Laboratories from 2017 to 2019. He has also served as a business manager and held several technical services positions over the course of his career in the United States, Spain and Mexico.

Dr. Diaz received his doctorate in veterinary medicine and zootecnia from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 1989, where he also taught pathology, clinical swine diagnostics and immunology. He has authored more than 200 technical papers, articles and research bulletins on a wide variety of global swine diseases and health issues.
