WASHIGNTON, DC - Torrey Advisory Group (TAG), a boutique lobbying firm specializing in food, agriculture, and forestry issues, welcomes Nona McCoy as a Vice President on the policy team. McCoy’s 25 years of bicameral, bipartisan congressional experience will elevate the firm’s services in appropriations support and provide TAG clients with a strategic approach for engaging Congress and federal agencies.

“The federal policymaking space is as complex as it has ever been,” said firm principal Michael Torrey. “Nona has experienced firsthand the significant changes that have taken place, including in the appropriations process, and understands what it takes to successfully move an issue in this environment. Her tenure on Capitol Hill will be a real asset to the TAG policy team and our clients.”

Throughout her career McCoy has developed an in-depth knowledge of the legislative, budgetary, and appropriations process along with how to successfully communicate and perform outreach to a diverse set of stakeholders. Before joining TAG, McCoy served as a Professional Staff Member (PSM) on the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee for the Department of Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies. McCoy also served in senior professional staff roles on both the House and Senate Agriculture Committees and as a program specialist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service.

“I am thrilled to join the Torrey Advisory Group and welcome the opportunity to share what I have learned from working on Capitol Hill for over two decades,” McCoy said. “Not only does the Torrey Advisory Group have a proven track record and solid reputation, but the firm’s bipartisan approach for solving issues provided a great opportunity to continue working on critical issues in a dynamic, results oriented environment. I look forward to working with the talented team at Torrey.”

Nona earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky and her master’s from Georgetown University. Click here for Nona McCoy's bio and headshot.
