New precision feed system rolled out for beef cattle

A new precision feed system, designed by Farmer Business Network’s livestock nutrition experts and veterinarians, balances beef diets for amino acid requirements relative to energy consumption. It is a system that is similar to how the swine industry uses diet formulation to reduce cost of gain by improving feed efficiency. In commercial studies and comparisons, a 5 to 15% improvement in feed-to gain ratio and profitability compared to traditional diet formulations has been realized with Profectus Feeds, along with a carcass value that has been maintained or improved.
