Kemin Industries announced Oct. 13 that it is selling its companion animal health line of veterinary supplements, RESOURCES, to Garmon Corp. of Temucula, Cal.

"This is a positive development for customers as Garmon is dedicated to the development, manufacturing and servicing of veterinary supplements to the companion animal health industry," Dr. Andrew G. Yersin, Kemin president of the companion animal health division, said. "In addition, this transaction will allow Kemin to focus on its core mission of developing innovative, specialty ingredients for industry partners that deliver nutrition and health benefits to people and animals."

Customer service is a top focus for both organizations. Kemin and Garmon will work cooperatively on the transition to ensure ongoing customer orders are serviced efficiently with no interruption in product supply. Garmon will begin marketing the products Nov. 1, 2014.

"The high quality, effectiveness and innovation behind the RESOURCES brand of supplements will continue under Garmon's direction," Garmon president Scott Garmon said. Garmon also confirmed that Dr. Ihor Basko, the innovator behind many of the product formulations, will continue his work as a consultant for the company.

Like Kemin, Garmon is a member of the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC), an organization committed to the highest quality standards in the companion animal industry.

The RESOURCES line of nutraceuticals for dogs and cats includes 18 different products across several categories including gastrointestinal health, joint support, pain support, immune support, urinary support, cardiovascular support, calming/stress and general wellness.
