Archer Daniels Midland announced Oct. 1 that it is investing to create an additional 2.5 million bushels of soybean storage at the company’s Deerfield, Missouri, processing plant.

"Our local farmer suppliers are a vital part of our business in Deerfield, and we hope that they will be as excited as we are about expanding our bean storage capacity here,” said Tim Cassidy, commercial manager of the Deerfield plant.

Cassidy said the investment gives the company the opportunity to receive more soybeans from our farmer partners in the Deerfield region, and to handle those crops more efficiently.

Construction of the additional capacity will be complete in Q4 of 2015.
