West Coast port delegates mull contract extension

Proposed extension referred to ratification vote by ILWU membership.

Nearly 90 delegates from 29 West Coast ports stretching from San Diego, Cal., to Bellingham, Wash., who were elected by rank-and-file members of the International Longshore & Warehouse Union’s (ILWU) Longshore Division, convened last week in San Francisco, Cal., to review a wide range of issues, including an employer-initiated proposal to extend the 2014-19 collective bargaining agreement between ILWU and the Pacific Maritime Assn. (PMA).
