Virtus Nutrition welcomes Great Lakes Sales Manager

Steve Fitzner was recently named Great Lakes Sales Manager for Virtus Nutrition, a California-based feed ingredient company, specializing in fatty acid nutrition for dairy cows. Virtus Nutrition offers EnerG-3, Strata, Prequel, and EnerGII in their line-up of omega fatty acid products.

“We are very excited to welcome Steve Fitzner to the Virtus team,” stated Douglas Waterman, Eastern technical sales director for Virtus Nutrition. “Steve has a tremendous amount of experience in the commercial feed and retail sales industry. He has been successful in providing a leadership position for key specialty products in his market and created value added sales strategies for feed manufacturers.  Steve will be a great addition to our team and presence in the Michigan, Ohio and Indiana market.”

Steve Fitzner began his role with Virtus Nutrition at the beginning of May, covering the Great Lakes territory of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. Fitzner, who has been working in dairy feed sales and nutrition industry for 29 years, brings a strong educational background with him to Virtus with a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in animal agriculture from Western Kentucky University.

“I am excited about joining the Virtus Nutrition team,” shared Fitzner. “The ability to provide value added omega fatty acid products to dairy producers that provides a high return on investment is what motivates me.”

Previously, Steve has worked in the dairy nutrition industry as a sales manager, technical services manager, and owner of a commercial and retail feed company. Along with his strong work background, Fitzner is active within the beef and equine industry and enjoys being with his family and bicycling, hunting, and fishing.
