Vencomatic acquires Van Gent Laying nests

Acquisition strengthens Vencomatic's position in broiler breeder sector.

Netherlands-based Vencomatic Group has acquired the family business Van Gent Laying nests from Renswoude, Netherlands, a player in the global poultry breeding and laying sector.

Teus and Netty van Gent have run their company for more than 50 years but now have sold to Vencomatic Group, another family business specializing in poultry housing systems.

"For our company, the team and the customers, this step provides certainty for a bright future. This really means a lot to us," Teus van Gent said.

Lotte ven de Ven with Vencomatic Group said, "We have always had a great deal of respect for Van Gent, with its cast-iron reputation for service and technical results."

With the acquisition, Vencomatic Group becomes a supplier of the Van Gent laying nests and strengthens its position in the broiler breeder sector, the announcement said.

Vencomatic Group is owned by Cor and Han van de Ven from Eersel, Netherlands. It started in 1983, with Cor's breakthrough innovation for breeder housing: the first automatic breeder nest.

Based on this successful breeder nest, Cor van de Ven continued and developed products for other types of poultry, including turkeys, layers, ducks and broilers. To further complement the range of products, Prinzen (egg handling) and Agro Supply (climate solutions) were added to the portfolio. Agro Supply, Prinzen and Vencomatic together offer a full range of products for modern poultry farms all over the world.

With more than 350 employees, Vencomatic Group serves thousands of customers. Together with local branches and dealers, the company can optimally fulfill the requirements of its customers in all parts of the world.

Since 2012, Vencomatic Group’s head office has been based at the Venco Campus in Eersel, Netherlands. Vencomatic also has offices in Adel, Iowa, and Cochrane, Alb.

In the U.S., Van Gent was represented by INDIV.
