Neogen launches Prima Marc BMV

Neogen has expanded its line of highly accurate Prima Marc products to include a veterinary syringe that simultaneously injects and marks an animal — and at the same time provides an animal care provider the mobility of a bottle mount vaccinator (BMV).

Neogen's unique new Prima Marc BMV allows users to inject and mark the animal with a single motion using only one hand. The bottle of medication or vaccine is directly connected to the syringe, and a can of Prima Marc paint is mounted to the top of the device. A squeeze of the syringe's handle activates the mounted paint can, and marks each animal as it is serviced.

"The Prima Marc BMV product is another example of working with our customers, and listening to what we could do to make their jobs easier," said Neogen's Kim Quinn. "When you're spending a long day servicing many animals, it can be very difficult to keep track of which animals have been injected, and which haven't. Missing an animal or injecting the same animal twice both carry consequences.

"There is really no other product out there like the patented Prima Marc BMV to help ensure a farm's quality control efforts by encouraging safe administration practices," Quinn continued. "The applied paint helps verify and track such critical treatments as administering antibiotics, and adds another level of quality control for accurate record keeping."

Neogen offers 2.2 ounce Prima Marc paint cans in multiple colors to accompany the new BMV product, as well as replacement parts and accessories to help ensure years of use in a variety of animal care situations.
