NASS to reinstate agricultural estimates programs

NASS to reinstate several agricultural estimate reports, including the July cattle report, following passage of the 2014 approprations bill.

Following passage of its budget by the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2014, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics said Feb. 12 that it will reinstate the agricultural estimates programs previously suspended due to sequestration. The reinstatements are for NASS' fiscal year 2014 annual appropriation.

The reinstated programs are:

* All Catfish and Trout Reports;

* July Cattle Report;

* Potato Stocks Reports;

* Non-Citrus Fruit, Nut and Vegetable Forecasts and Estimates & Monthly Prices;

* June Rice Stocks Report;

* All Hops and Hops Stocks Estimates, and

* Mink Report.

NASS said it has not determined the dates for publication of these reports but it will announce the dates when they are set.
