H.J. Baker earns safety certification

H.J. BAKER & Bro. Inc. announced Dec. 10 that its poultry feed additive facility in Ft. Smith, Ark., has earned Safe Feed/Safe Food certification.

The Safe Feed/Safe Food program is a voluntary, third-party certification initiative designed for feed mills and feed ingredient-related facilities in the U.S., Mexico and Canada. The program establishes comprehensive standards of excellence that go beyond existing regulations to show leadership and maximize food and feed safety. The program is administered by the American Feed Industry Assn.

H.J. Baker's Ft. Smith facility manufactures feed ingredients for poultry, including PRO-PAK Protein Concentrate and PRO-PLUS Animal Protein Concentrate.

H.J. Baker is headquartered in Westport, Conn., and the company has more than 20 locations throughout North America.
