GEORGE'S Inc., a large, privately owned chicken integrator, has announced that Carl George and Charles George have been named co-chief executive officers and presidents of the company.
Both have been with the company since 1997 and were named senior vice presidents in 2009.
Carl George will be responsible for live production and processing, and Charles George will be responsible for quality assurance, purchasing, sales, accounting and human resources, according to the announcement. Both are fourth-generation members of the George family.
Gary George, who had been CEO and president, will continue to chair the board of directors, the announcement said.
Carl George is a member of the National Chicken Council (NCC) board of directors and a member of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Assn. (USPoultry). Charles George is a member of the board of both the Arkansas Poultry Federation and USPoultry and is a member of NCC.
George's, based in Springdale, Ark., was founded by C.L. George as Farmers Produce Co. in the late 1920s. The company, which supplies foodservice distributors, has complexes in Springdale, Cassville, Mo., and Edinburg and Harrisonburg, Va.
