Deere & Co. announced that it has informed approximately 100 manufacturing employees that they will be placed on indefinite layoff, effective April 1.

The layoffs will take place at Deere's factories in Davenport and Dubuque, Iowa. Both facilities are part of the company's construction and forestry division.

Approximately 80 of the layoffs will take place at John Deere Davenport Works, while the remaining 20 layoffs will affect the Dubuque facility.

Deere said the layoffs reflect the company's ongoing efforts to balance the size of its manufacturing workforce with market demand for products at individual factories.
