Trouw Nutrition's newly opened Blending Innovation Center (BIC) marked its official grand opening on March 29, 2022, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a reception at Schlafly Highland Square.
The BIC will focus on specialized new blending technology for the pet food industry and marks the beginning of the company's growth plan. The addition increases its existing 8,100-square-foot pilot plant to a 32,052-square-foot modern new facility. This expansion enables Trouw Nutrition to bring in additional business opportunities and create new jobs within the community as the company grows its metro-east campus.
The grand opening is a culmination of nearly ten months of construction and development featuring partners such as The Korte Company, the City of Highland, the Nutreco Industrial Project Team, and the Trouw Nutrition Innovation Team.
"It is so nice to reach this important milestone for our business and industry,” said Terri Boeser, general manager. “Completing this project while up against COVID-19 and supply chain disruptions is a true testament to the dedication of our employees."
Highland Mayor Kevin Hemann, Trouw Nutrition CEO Saskia Korink, The Korte Company CEO Brent Korte and members from the City of Highland and Highland Chamber of Commerce were among the invitees attending the ribbon cutting ceremony inside the new facility.
"I am excited about the possibilities the new Blending Innovation Center will bring to support our growth ambitions in the global companion animal industry,” said Saskia Korink, CEO of Trouw Nutrition. “The new center will be instrumental in providing our customers with innovative solutions to advance the nourishment of the world's pets."
