Noelle Noyes, DVM, PhD
University of Minnesota

Noelle Noyes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Population Medicine at University of Minnesota. She is part of Minnesota's AGREETT program. Dr. Noyes’ current research focuses on advancing the understanding of pathogens, antimicrobial resistance, and microbial ecology, with the ultimate goal of optimizing public health, food safety and security, and livestock production. Noelle was a USDA NIFA Post-Doctoral Fellow and an NIH T32 Pre-Doctoral Fellow. She was recipient of the German Chancellor Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and received her MA from Osnabrueck University and her BA from Amherst College. Noelle completed a dual-degree PhD-DVM program at Colorado State University before joining University of Minnesota faculty. Currently, her lab is conducting studies on microbiome, pathogen and antibiotic resistance issues related to livestock production and food safety, with funding from USDA, NIH, NSF, FMPRE, NPB, NCBA and the University of Minnesota.

Scott Dee, DVM
Pipestone Veterinary Services

Scott Dee joined Pipestone Veterinary Services in Pipestone in July of 2011. Before joining the clinic, Dr. Dee was a swine practitioner in Morris, Minnesota for 12 years and for the last 12 years a professor at the University of Minnesota where he conducted research in the areas of PRRSV transmission and biosecurity. Currently he serves as Director of Research for Pipestone Applied Research conducting research in the areas of viral transport and transmission in feed, feed biosecurity, and antimicrobial resistance at the level of the swine farm. Scott, his wife, Lisa and their two children, Nicholas and Ellen, live in Alexandria, MN.

Michael Apley, DVM, PhD, DACVCP - Moderator Kansas State University

Michael Apley is a veterinarian with a PhD in physiology (pharmacology). He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology. His practice background includes general practice in central Kansas and a feedlot consulting/contract research practice based in Colorado. Dr. Apley was on the College of Veterinary Medicine faculty at Iowa State University for 9 years through 2005. He is currently a professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Kansas State University. Dr. Apley works with veterinarians and producers throughout the United States concerning the use of drugs in food animals and also in the area of beef cattle health with an emphasis on feedlots.
