Veterinarians tackle PCV3 in upcoming webinar

This one-hour June 26 episode in the Science Talks. webinar series is a follow-up to the previous webinar “PCV3 — An Emerging Disease.”

Swine veterinarians, Matt Anderson, Thomas Petznick and Chris Sievers have been on the front lines as porcine circovirus 2 has come through hog herds, so they were caught a little off guard when pigs were getting sick, but they couldn’t put a finger on PCV2.

Their thoughts then turned to an emerging pathogen — PCV3.

Anderson, with Suidae Health and Production, Algona, Iowa; Petznick, with ArkCare, Fairbury, Neb.; and Sievers, Swine Vet Center, St. Peter, Minn., will share their experiences with PCV3 in a 1 p.m. (Central) June 26 webinar, “PCV3: A Practitioner’s Perspective.” This National Hog Farmer webinar is sponsored by Merck Animal Health.

The one-hour episode in the Science Talks. webinar series is a follow-up to the previous webinar “PCV3 — An Emerging Disease” and will focus on field-based observations and decision-making processes in the diagnosis and treatment of PCV3 cases.

Anderson, Petznick and Sievers bring their unique perspective on the disease processes and management practices associated with PCV3.

National Hog Farmer senior staff writer Kevin Schulz will moderate the event.

Be sure to register for this June 26 webinar. Even if you cannot make the June 26 event, by registering you will be notified when the event is archived, and you will be able to access it on-demand.
