The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has given the green light to the creation of the largest agriculture biotechnology and seed firm in the U.S., announcing June 15 that it has granted The Dow Chemical Co. and E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co. conditional approval of their proposed $130 billion merger of equals. As part of the agreement, the companies must divest multiple crop protection and two petrochemical products to proceed.
