Tyson Foods confirmed this week that it is temporarily laying off approximately 150 employees in its Van Buren, Ark., chicken processing plant at the end of March.

The company explained that most of the affected employees work on the production line and that the layoffs are occurring due to changing production needs.

“Those affected may be eligible to work at other locations in the River Valley and northwest Arkansas, and we’ll be assisting with the application process,” a Tyson spokesperson said.
