Trade tariffs begin being imposed on U.S. ag products

Retaliatory tariffs to hit beef, pork and soybean producers this week in response to U.S. steel and aluminum tariffs.

Canada has finalized plans to hit nearly $12.5 billion worth of U.S. goods, including beef, with tariffs in retaliation for U.S. duties on steel and aluminum. Mexico is slated to introduce countermeasures to U.S. steel and aluminum tariffs by hitting roughly $3 billion worth of U.S. imports with duties, starting July 5, that will target pork producers, among others.
