Sweet Manufacturing Company hires plant manager

Sweet Manufacturing Company announced this week that Zach Whitford has been appointed as plant manager. Whitford will be responsible for all areas of production in the company’s Springfield, Ohio plant. He will also be in charge of increasing operational efficiency and ensuring that all products meet the firm’s strict “Quality Line” standards.

Whitford is a familiar face at Sweet Manufacturing, having been employed there since 2007. Zach started at Sweet as a general laborer building intermediate assemblies. Shortly afterwards, he was moved to fabrication to satisfy his desire to expand his knowledge. Whiltford’s experience and expertise continued to grow, as he eventually became the team leader for the welding department. In 2017, Zach assumed a new role as manufacturing coordinator, responsible for product flow within the facility. A year later, Whitford was promoted to manufacturing foreman, assisting the plant manager with all of his duties.

“Zach’s strong background and hands-on experience make him a valuable asset that can help improve many processes here at Sweet Manufacturing,” said Dwayne Gundolf, vice president of manufacturing. “Zach is energetic and eager to improve current processes and assist in new product development. I look forward to working closely with Zach to improve our current manufacturing processes for many years to come.”

Sweet Manufacturing provides products that are manufactured in the U.S. and takes pride in offering its customers affordable modern-day solutions. The company’s product offerings include bucket elevators, conveyors, support structures, clamshell bin gates, and heat processors.
