STX Beef launches operations at former Kane Beef plant

STX Beef Co. announced March 25 that it has begun operations at the former Sam Kane Beef Processing plant in Corpus Christi, Texas.

All required safety and operational inspections have been completed, and all key company roles have been staffed, the company said, adding that operations began at approximately 25% of plant capacity and will continue to ramp up in the coming weeks.

“This is an exciting day,” said Ryan Connelly, president of STX Beef. “First, we would like to welcome back all the former employees of Kane Beef that have joined the STX Beef team. As soon as we completed the acquisition, getting folks back to work was our top priority.”

Connelly continued, “Today’s start-up is just the beginning of a new chapter for the business, our team and our partnership with cattle producers, customers and the community. We are very excited about the future of STX Beef.”
