Divestiture allows company to sharpen focus on demands of rapidly growing animal health and nutrition division.
Quality Technology International (QTI) Inc. announced this week that, effective April 1, it has sold its non-genetically modified organism (GMO) soybean business to Consolidated Grain & Barge (CGB), a leader in the grain and transportation industries.
QTI has been in the non-GMO soybean business for more than 20 years but said the action is the result of changing markets in this area as well as demand for antibiotic-free alternatives.
“This divestiture allows QTI to sharpen our focus and concentrate our resources on the demands of our rapidly growing Animal Health & Nutrition division,” QTI president and chief executive officer Troy Lohrmann said. “The immediate and foreseeable future calls for new and novel solutions in antibiotic-free production alternatives. We see this as our main focus of customer need and opportunity.”
QTI is a recognized leader in providing natural gut health products for conventional, organic and antibiotic-free production.
