Podcast: USAHA president-elect Determan shares insight

The U.S. Animal Health Assn. (USAHA) held its 121st annual meeting in San Diego this week. Feedstuffs editor Sarah Muirhead caught up with incoming president Barb Determan of the Heartland Marketing Group to talk about the organization, its mission and what’s ahead for 2018. Among topics discussed were foreign animal disease, animal identification, disease outbreak preparation/responsiveness and more. (Interview below).

USAHA is a science-based, non-profit, voluntary organization. Its 1,100 members are state and federal animal health officials, national allied organizations, regional representatives and individual members. USAHA works with state and federal governments, universities, veterinarians, livestock producers, national livestock and poultry organizations, research scientists, the extension service and several foreign countries to control livestock diseases in the U.S. The group represents all 50 states, 4 foreign countries and 34 allied groups serving health, technical and consumer markets.
