Number of fall HPAI cases growing

Minnesota, South Dakota and Utah confirm cases in large turkey flocks.

A combined total of nearly 250,000 turkeys are being depopulated in Minnesota, South Dakota and Utah after highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) was confirmed this week in five different flocks. The Minnesota cases were discovered in Brown in Stearns Counties. South Dakota reported two cases in Clark County, and Utah reported one case in Sanpete. The virus was also confirmed in backyard flocks in Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota and California this week.
