North American countries sign USMCA

Congress will need to pass legislation to implement the deal.

Friday in Argentina, the United States joined Canada and Mexico in signing the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), an important next step in the new pact's final approval reached earlier this fall. The signing, which took place on the sidelines of the G-20 summit, shifts the focus now to each country’s legislatures to approve the agreement before it can go into effect.
