ARM & HAMMER, Princeton, N.J. — Dr. Brad Clyburn has joined the Animal & Food Production team as ruminant account manager. Clyburn will support and expand the dairy and beef business in the South Central region of the U.S., concentrating on Oklahoma and Texas. He was previously with Chr. Hansen.

Brenda Siefken has joined the Animal & Food Production team as ruminant account manager. Siefken will support and expand the dairy and beef business in the South Central region of the U.S., overseeing Kansas and Colorado. She was previously with AgCall.

 

BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM ANIMAL HEALTH USA INC., Duluth, Ga. —Everett Hoekstra has been appointed president. Hoekstra will oversee the animal health market and help drive continued growth and innovation in the industry. He was most recently chief financial officer of the U.S. animal health business.

 

NATUREFORM HATCHERY TECHNOLOGIES, Jacksonville, Fla. — Rory Harman has been appointed regional sales manager North America. Harman was previously with Pilgrim's Pride Corp.

 

USA POULTRY & EGG EXPORT COUNCIL, Stone Mountain, Ga. — Dr. John R. Clifford has joined the council as veterinary trade policy advisor. Clifford will be responsible for conducting lectures, seminars and workshops aimed at foreign government and industry representatives, advising the council and other U.S. industry groups on animal disease-related issues, maintaining ongoing relationships with foreign government veterinary officials and interfacing with U.S. officials on behalf of the U.S. poultry and egg industry. He was previously with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service.

OBITUARYGary King, past chief executive officer of the Ohio Agribusiness Assn., passed away Jan. 14 at the age of 77. King had served as CEO of the association for more than 20 years.

 

OBITUARY Dr. Leland McKinney died suddenly Jan. 1 at the age of 43 after a brief illness. McKinney earned his bachelor and master of science degrees from Kansas State University and his PhD from Oklahoma State University. He had a distinguished career in milling science animal nutrition, working several jobs in the field, including a tenured professorship at Kansas State and, most recently, as a nutritionist for Purina/Land O'Lakes. McKinney was a regular columnist in the Feedstuffs Facilities section.

 

ALLFLEX LIVESTOCK INTELLIGENCE, Madison, Wis. — Jason Irwin has joined the company as Southeast monitoring sales manager. Irwin will oversee sales and customer support responsibilities in West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

 

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF SWINE VETERINARIANS, Perry, Iowa — Dr. Abbey Canon has joined the association as director of communications, effective Feb. 4. Canon was previously with Iowa State University.

 

AMERICAN FARMLAND TRUST, Washington, D.C. — Dr. Beth Sauerhaft has joined the organization as vice president for programs. Sauerhaft will help lead national initiatives that seek to protect farmland, combat climate change, conserve water, engage women landowners in improving environmental stewardship, support farm viability and bring a new generation of farmers onto the land. She will also help integrate the national initiatives with the regional programs currently in California, the mid-Atlantic, the Midwest, New England, New York and the Pacific Northwest. She was previously with PepsiCo.

 

AMERICAN FEED INDUSTRY ASSN., Arlington, Va. — Lacie Dotterweich has joined the association as communications coordinator. Dotterweich will be responsible for developing and disseminating content across the social media and web platforms for the association and its public charity, the Institute for Feed Education & Research. She will assist in writing, editing and distributing print and electronic communications materials, including the AFIA Journal and biweekly "FeedGram," and tracking all analytics generated from those communications. She was previously with the Center for Rural Affairs.

 

AMERICAN GELBVIEH ASSN., Broomfield, Colo. — Jake Renner has joined the staff as member and youth activities coordinator. Renner will guide the American Gelbvieh Junior Assn. and help develop the next generation of leaders in the beef industry. He was previously with K-State Research & Extension.

 

ANUVIA PLANT NUTRIENTS, Zellwood, Fla. — Keith Farnsworth has been named regional sales manager — eastern division. Farnsworth will focus on SymTRX agricultural sales and market development covering the eastern states from the Carolinas up to New York. He was previously with NutriAg USA.

 

APTIMMUNE BIOLOGICS, St. Louis, Mo. — Dr. Heather Bessoff has joined the company as chief executive officer. Bessoff will oversee all aspects of operations, including commercial vaccine development, research, sales and marketing for the vaccine products made with Barricade formulation technology. She was previously a business management consultant.

Dr. Perry Harms has been named technical consultant. Harms will consult with the research and development team and help support field application and sales. He was previously with Smithfield Foods.

 

ARM & HAMMER, Princeton, N.J. — Rob Comerford has joined the U.S. sales team as poultry account manager. Comerford will support poultry customers with microbial and nutrition solutions, working across various poultry market sectors in the U.S., including broiler, layer and turkey, with an emphasis on the layer segment. He was previously with Neogen.

Jason Quick has joined the monogastric sales team as poultry account manager. Quick will focus on supporting and expanding the CERTILLUS and CELMANAX brands in the U.S. poultry market, with an emphasis on the broiler segment. He was previously with Aviagen.

 

AUBURN UNIVERSITY, Auburn, Ala. — Jeremiah Davis has been named director of the National Poultry Technology Center. Davis has been serving as associate director of the research and outreach center.

 

BIO-VET INC., Barneveld, Wis. — Christi Keeler has joined the company as business development manager-beef. Keeler will steer efforts to promote the microbial and nutritional products for the beef industry. She was previously with Merck Animal Health and Furst-McNess.

 

BUNGE LTD., White Plains, N.Y. — Gregory A. Heckman has been appointed acting chief executive officer. Heckman will collaborate with the board and management team on ways to improve performance and create shareholder value.

Brian Zachman has been named president of global risk management. Zachman will work to strengthen risk management capability. He was previously with Millennium LP.

 

CARGILL, Wichita, Kan. — Misty High has been named to lead the protein foodservice business, effective March 1, 2019. High is currently vice president and key customer leader of the protein business.

Jon Nash has been named to lead the North American protein business, effective March 1, 2019. Nash is currently president of the protein foodservice business.

EVERYPIG, Larchwood, Iowa — Polly Hoogeveen has been appointed as ambassador. Hoogeveen will focus on expanding relationships with pork producers and swine veterinarians around the world to help them manage their pigs' health. She was previously with Cargill Animal Nutrition.

 

GREAT FALLS MONTANA DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, Great Falls, Mont. — Barnett Sporkin-Morrison has been named to lead the Food & Agricultural Development Center. Sporkin-Morrison will lead food and bioscience business development efforts, including research and development, ingredient production and finished products. He was previously with AgFertilizers Inc.

 

HELM AGRO US INC., Tampa, Fla. — Craig Taylor has joined the company as northern Corn Belt regional sales manager. Taylor will be responsible for promoting sales of the crop protection portfolio and supporting the distributor and retailer network in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota and Wisconsin. He was previously with Dupont Chemical Co.

 

HERDX, Boerne, Texas — Austin Adams has joined the company as chief technology officer. Adams will lead the technology team in implementing the HerdX solution by partnering with restaurant chains and grocers. He also will help accelerate implementation and commercialization of the blockchain system.

Lasco will direct efforts to enhance relationships with county pork organizations and pork producers and will coordinate membership marketing efforts and the Iowa Pork Leadership Academy. She also will serve as liaison to the Iowa Purebred Swine Council. She was previously with Smithfield.

 

IOWA RENEWABLE FUELS ASSN., Johnston, Iowa — Nathan Hohnstein has joined the association as policy director. Hohnstein will be responsible for overseeing state policy, supporting the political and political action committee programs and working on state and federal regulatory affairs, among other duties. He previously worked for Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds.

 

KEMIN INDUSTRIES, Des Moines, Iowa — Haley Stomp has been appointed senior vice president of marketing. Stomp will lead the corporate marketing team and will collaborate with all 16 business units to enhance strategic marketing. She was most recently vice president of marketing for Kemin Animal Nutrition & Health — North America.

John Thorpe has been promoted to president and chief operating officer for Kent Corp. Thorpe was most recently president of Kent Nutrition Group.

NEDAP, Groenlo, Netherlands — Cheryl Day has joined the North American swine support team as U.S. vice president of business development. Day will lead the team in helping pork producers find solutions for individual animal care. She was previously with National Hog Farmer.

Jeff Morten has joined the North American swine support team as U.S. sales manager. Morten was previously with New Standard.

José Roberto Simeone has joined the Latin America swine support team as the Latin America sales manager. Simeone will work with Spanish-, Portuguese- and English-speaking pork producers in Latin America to manage sows in a group setting. He was previously with Archer Daniels Midland and Cargill Inc.

 

NEOGEN CORP., Lansing, Mich. — Dr. Jason Lilly has been promoted to vice president of international business. Lilly will be responsible for maximizing the revenues and profits for operations outside of the U.S. He was most recently vice president of corporate development.
