NAFTA deal must be reached by May 17

House speaker Ryan indicates Congress needs NAFTA deal, not agreement in principle, by May 17 to allow enough time for review.

Time is running out for concluding negotiations on the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Speaker of the House Paul Ryan said Thursday that Congress must receive a deal from the U.S. Trade Representative by May 17 to allow enough time for the chambers to vote on it in this legislative year.
