Michigan Senate advances bill to delay cage-free requirements

Bill introduced to align with retailers demanding cage-free eggs by 2025 and to delay original 2020 deadline.

The Michigan Senate's agriculture committee advanced a bill (SB 660) that would amend its Animal Industry Act to not apply to egg-laying hens until Oct. 12, 2025, instead of April 1, 2020.
