JBS S.A., one of the world's largest food processors, announced this week that its controlled entity Seara Alimentos Ltda. has concluded the acquisition of the margarine and mayonnaise assets from Bunge Alimentos S.A. in Brazil. When the transaction was initially announced in December 2019, the purchase value was 700 million reais ($133.03 million).
The acquisition includes three production facilities located in Gaspar (SC), São Paulo (SP) and Suape (PE). The acquisition of these facilities and associated brands, including Delícia, Primor and Gradina strengthens Seara’s position in the Brazilian margarine segment, in addition to optimizing its distribution platform.
Guilherme Perboyre Cavalcanti, investor relations officer for JBS, said the acquisition is aligned with the company’s strategy to expand its portfolio of value-added and branded products.
