ICCF launches public consultation on genotoxicity testing guidance

The International Cooperation for Convergence of Technical Requirements for the Assessment of Feed Ingredients (ICCF) has launched a public consultation on its draft guidance document: Genotoxicity Testing. Interested stakeholders are now invited to provide comments on the draft by Dec. 31.

The draft guidance document provides guidance to applicants for providing the relevant information necessary for the safety evaluation of feed ingredients. It provides an approach on how tests should be organized, as well as a description of the tests themselves. The guidance document builds on existing international guidance document and was developed by a panel of experts drawn from the ICCF founding members.

Stakeholders are invited to provide comments by Dec. 31 via email to [email protected] using the template for comments developed for this guidance document.

ICCF was created in 2017. It was founded by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and the Animal Nutrition Association of Canada (ANAC), the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the American Feed Industry Assn. (AFIA), the European Commission (DG SANTE) and the EU Association of Specialty Feed Ingredients and their Mixtures (FEFANA), and the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF). The ICCF aims at developing science-based technical guidance documents supporting the feed industry in assessing their products and to aid in the preparation of pre-market assessment submissions.
