FEEDSTUFFS PRECISION PORK Market Report – May 21

China continues to be flush with pork in the short term as a result of its ongoing situation with African swine fever.

In this episode of Feedstuffs Precision Pork, Dave Bauer, senior market analyst for Provimi, offers some hog market perspective and market highlights for the week as well as provides things to think about in the week ahead.

Mexico led all purchases for the week, followed by Japan and then China at 16%. China continues to be flush with pork as the liquidation of pigs from African swine fever provides plenty of pork in the short term. What’s going on in terms of slaughter and the cutout? Take a listen. Bauer explains.

These are uncertain times, and it will pay dividends to be well-prepared. If you have questions on this week’s recap or want to discuss something not covered, feel free to ASK DAVE at [email protected]
