In this episode of Feedstuffs Precision Pork, Dave Bauer, senior market analyst for Provimi, offers some hog market perspective and market highlights for the week as well as provides things to think about in the week ahead.

It was another record-breaking week in the hog markets, and although the underlying fundamentals haven't changed much, the emotion money flow and trading volumes certainly have. Bauer explains that several futures markets encountered dynamic corrections this week, although the cash markets have not.

Bauer uses some examples from the recent correction in the lumber markets to illustrate the relationship between the futures and spot contract prices seen in the hog and grain markets.

These are uncertain times, and it will pay dividends to be well-prepared. If you have questions on this week’s recap or want to discuss something not covered, feel free to ASK DAVE at [email protected]
