Farming is a family affair

According to ERS, 99% of U.S. farms are family farms and accounted for 90% of farm production in 2016.

Farming is still overwhelmingly comprised of family businesses. Ninety-nine percent of U.S. farms are family farms, and they account for 90% of farm production, according to the 2017 edition of "America’s Diverse Family Farms" from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service (ERS).
