CSA Animal Nutrition hires swine nutritionist

CSA Animal Nutrition is pleased to announce that Dr. Aaron Jones has joined its team as a swine nutritionist.

Jones will provide technical support to regional feed manufacturers and swine producers. His primary function is to optimize nutrition programs to provide the best economic outcome.

“We are pleased to have Aaron join our CSA team and expect his education and practical experience will bring value to our customers,” said Charles Shininger, president of CSA Animal Nutrition. “His experience conducting research on commercial farms along with his technical sales and service work will allow him to connect and communicate effectively with customers and prospective clients. At CSA, we are continuing to invest in assembling a world class multi-specie nutrition team to provide leading edge nutrition services and deliver value to our clients.”

Prior to joining CSA Animal Nutrition, Dr. Jones was most recently an independent consulting swine nutritionist for TechMix where he coordinated R&D activities for innovation and support of existing products.  In his PhD degree at Kansas State University, he focused on evaluating specialty protein sources in nursery pig diets as a means to stimulate feed intake and improve growth performance during the post-weaning period. During his master’s degree program at Purdue University, he studied nutritional strategies and their effects on the environmental footprint of swine production.  While at Purdue he had the opportunity to conduct applied research at TDM farms studying a wide variety of areas including equipment design, nutritional programs, and management practices.

Dr. Jones brings great practical experience from his time at TDM studying the effect of feeder type on growth performance and feed conversion. His time working in research and product development also will be valuable in helping clients evaluate new technology for swine production.

Jones is located in Ohio and will support existing relationships and help establish new clients.

“Aaron’s focus will be on supporting clients throughout the U.S.,” said Doug Cook, director of Innovation & swine nutritionist. “We are pleased that Aaron joined our team and believe he will add value to all our relationships in the market.”
