The Chinese government is sticking by the numbers it has reported for African swine fever (ASF) outbreaks and hogs culled as well as its statement that it has the disease under complete control, according to David Williams, director of global protein for Informa Economics IEG, who recently traveled to China to speak at a global meat industry event hosted by the China Meat Assn. The only problem, however, is that no one believes it.
