AFIA seeks reopening of FSMA animal feed rule

Reopening of comment period would allow for renegotiation of several requirements under FSMA to better match feed industry needs.

The American Feed Industry Assn. (AFIA) sent a letter Tuesday to Dr. Stephen Ostroff, deputy commissioner of food and veterinary medicine at the Food & Drug Administration, to formally request a reopening of the comment period for the Animal Food Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP), Hazard Analysis & Risk-based Preventative Controls final rule.
