The U.S. Department of Agriculture issued its last “Crop Progress” report this week, but the corn harvest is still incomplete in some states.  

Corn harvest did continue to progress, with 92% of the crop now harvested, up from 89% the prior week. While decent progress was made over the past week, four states still lag by quite a bit. North Dakota’s corn harvest is only 43% complete, Michigan and Wisconsin are 74% complete and South Dakota is 83% complete. The five-year average for corn harvest is 100% complete.  

Last week was the final report for soybean harvest even though the crop was still only 97% complete. At the time, more than 10% of the crop still needed to be harvested in Michigan, North Carolina and Wisconsin.

The U.S. cotton harvest is has now reached 89% completion, which is up from 83% the prior week.
