Cattle on feed placements higher again

Cattle prices recently moved lower but still higher than same period last year.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported Nov. 20 in the latest “Cattle on Feed” report that the number of cattle in U.S. feedlots with a capacity of 1,000 head or more totaled 11.3 million head on Nov. 1, 2017. The inventory was 6% above the same period last year and near analysts’ expectations.
