The Select Sires beef department is eager to introduce two new team members, Ryan Bodenhausen and Clint Sexson. Bodenhausen, previously with Premier Select Sires, has been hired as associate vice president of beef product development and marketing. In addition to his role at All West/Select Sires, Sexson has accepted the position of large-herd beef specialist at Select Sires Inc.
“I couldn’t be more excited to add these two awesome individuals to the beef team,” said Lorna Marshall, vice president of beef programs for Select Sires Inc. “Ryan’s dairy and beef background, field experience, people management, organizational and marketing skills will be an immense asset to our growing program. Clint was trained by one of the best cattlemen in the business, the late Stan Lock. He brings outstanding stockmanship, logistics, marketing expertise and large-herd experience to this role. Both will add great value to our team and serve our farmer-owners well.”
Bodenhausen is a 2008 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. He was hired by Southeast Select Sires, now known as Premier Select Sires, in 2012 as a beef sales representative. He then transitioned to an area sales manager role and eventually assumed the responsibilities of the southwest regional marketing manager. Bodenhausen has also served on Select Sires’ Simmental acquisition committee. His extreme passion for farmer-owner success and beef genetics have garnered him three Select Sires’ Super Achiever awards in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Bodenhausen resides in Muscotah, Kansas where he, his wife, Kayla, and daughters, Brinley and Bryer, raise registered Simmental cattle.
While Sexson will continue to serve farmer-owners in his role at All West/Select Sires, he will provide the entire Select Sires federation with expertise to grow large-herd beef business. Sexson is a graduate of Colorado State University and Oregon State University. Prior to joining the team at All West/Select Sires, Sexson was an animal science instructor, livestock judging team coach and beef unit manager at Oregon State University. In 2015, he was hired by All West/Select Sires and quickly established a team of independent beef representatives. Sexson has served on the Select Sires Red Angus acquisition committee and remains connected to the beef industry outside of his professional role as the marketing committee chair for the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association. He resides in Stanfield, Oregon where he, his wife, Darcy, and sons, Chandler and Calvin, breed and develop Red Angus and Charolais seedstock and quarter horses.
Based in Plain City, Ohio, Select Sires Inc., is the largest global A.I. cooperative and is comprised of six farmer-owned and -controlled local organizations in the United States.
