Dr. Simon Shane is a consulting poultry veterinarian born in the U.K. but became a U.S. citizen in 1985. His areas of expertise include poultry health, diagnostic and preventive medicine, food safety and pharmaceutical and biological product evaluation. He also is an adjunct professor at North Carolina State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. From 1979 to 2001, Shane was a professor of avian medicine in the School of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University. Since 1979, he has published more than 600 technical articles and reports as well as has been the principal or co-author on 49 articles, published 26 abstracts and 9 invited chapters and delivered numerous posters, papers and platform presentations at industry symposia and conferences.
