Feed Energy names new board chairman

Riley Resource Group announced Robert (Bob) Riley Jr., founder and chairman of its board, is transitioning to chairman emeritus. Riley said the change in responsibilities will give him more time to work on innovations that benefit Feed Energy, the agricultural sector, his soil and water conservation interests, and his numerous non-profit involvements.

Long-time board member and chair of the Riley Family Council, Scott Harrington, was named the new chairman of the board.

"This is all part of a practical succession plan and continuity for the company,” Riley said. “There are things in life and business that are foreseeable - age and finding your replacement are two of those foreseeable events."

Riley said Harrington shares a similar vision and passion for the company. "Scott has high values with years of experience and believes people come first. From the employees to our customers, to our vendors and various trade associations, it is all about taking care of your people. As a family in business, 'Care' is a defining and integral component of our core values."

Harrington commented, "It is an honor to be named Chairman of the Board of Riley Resource Group and even more of an honor to follow Bob. In 34 years, Bob has grown Feed Energy Company, Riley Resource Group's flagship business, into one of the nation's largest energy-based animal nutrition companies. My goal is to build on what Bob has created and work with the executive team to continue to develop innovative and value-added agricultural products."

Chris Snyder, CEO of Riley Resource Group, said, "I couldn't be happier for Bob. He has spent years tirelessly building this company into the success that it is today. I know of nobody that has spent more time on numerous community causes and agriculture conservation than Bob. Being named Chairman Emeritus is a well-deserved promotion for Bob."

Snyder said he’s always valued Harrington's feedback and insights as a board member. “I'm looking forward to working more closely with Scott in his new role as chairman of the board."
