BioZyme recently announced that Eric Heerlein, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, and Jacob Johnson, of Ruth, Mississippi, and Justin Doubet have joined the company. Heerlein was named director of finance & capital while Johnson joins the company as inside sales representative for Alabama and Mississippi. Doubet, who will be located in Rapid City, South Dakota, was named area sales manager for Montana, South and North Dakota.
Heerlein has more than 20 years of accounting, financial management and leadership experience, most recently as the director of finance at Mosaic Life Care, a healthcare system located in Saint Joseph. He received bachelor’s degrees in accounting and business management from Missouri Western State University, an MBA from William Woods University and is a licensed CPA in the state of Missouri. Originally from the Saint Joseph area, his hobbies include golfing and spending time with family and friends.
“I am very excited to be joining the BioZyme team. As a leading global animal health and nutrition company, BioZyme is uniquely positioned as an innovative high-growth business focused on providing sustainability of agriculture and the well-being of animals and humans,” he said.
In his role, he will ensure that the BioZyme Finance and Accounting departments are providing best-in-class services and fostering strategic partnerships with management and operations.
“We are fortunate to have Eric on our team. In his short time at BioZyme, he has already made positive changes, and I am excited to see what he can do to help our company continue to grow and climb in the right direction in the future,” said Lisa Norton, BioZyme president and CEO.
In his role as inside sales representative for Alabama and Mississippi, Johnson will support dealers and customers in the two-state area to answer their product questions and help them boost their sales across the BioZyme family of brands.
Johnson is a Mississippi native who recently graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in animal science with a business emphasis. He was a member of both the K-State and Eastern Oklahoma State College livestock judging teams and grew up showing Hereford cattle. Johnson was one of the 2022 Sure Champ summer interns at BioZyme, traveling across the country to shows and events promoting the brands.
“The internship last summer was a big stepping stone to help me confirm that I wanted to pursue sales in the livestock industry. I really enjoyed working for BioZyme and learning more about the products. I knew I wanted to be part of a company that helps producers help their animals,” Johnson said.
Bob Burkham, BioZyme senior manager of national sales, commented, “We are fortunate to have someone passionate about people and livestock, like Jacob, that was such a dedicated intern, and then able to return full-time after finishing his education. He has the fortitude and commitment to helping people and helping animals, showing the care that comes full circle that BioZyme is all about.”
Doubet said he became a firm believer in the BioZyme products after having used both the VitaFerm Concept•Aid on donor cows several years ago and the Vita Charge Liquid Boost on hogs.
“I know several people who work at BioZyme, and I am looking forward to expanding the reach of the BioZyme family of brands in the three states I will be covering, and helping producers help their livestock and bottom line,” he said.
Doubet has a diversified background in the livestock industry. He was raised in Parker, Colorado, and showed pigs and cattle on a national level. His family’s ranch is located near Lodge Grass, Montana. He recalls spending family vacations there helping A.I., freeze brand, make hay and other chores. Doubet attended Northeastern Junior College, where he first experienced livestock judging. He then attended the University of Wyoming and was on the livestock judging team, managed the University hog farm and earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business. He also started his own business when he was a high school sophomore and has eight patents.
“We are excited to have a person of Justin’s caliber on our sales team. He is a well-rounded individual who understands the value of the products and is deeply connected within the industry. He is going to do great things in the Dakotas and Montana to help grow our dealers and their sales,” said Burkham.
