Vilsack touts rural America begun 'remarkable comeback'

Rural unemployment continued to decline while median annual rural area earnings rose.

Unemployment continued to decline in rural areas in 2015, falling close to levels last seen before the Great Recession, as employment continued to grow, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s latest edition of its "Rural America at a Glance 2016 Edition."

Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said the report shows that rural America has begun a “remarkable comeback.”
